How do you spell naive?
To borrow a line from John Gormley this morning. This should be interesting, given the headlines from Danny Williams this morning. Good luck Danny. You’ve burned your bridges, now you’ll have to live with it.
Isn’t it funny that for all the money he just spent, and all the anti-Conservative, anti-Harper ranting on his part, the Conservatives emerge with a stronger mandate than before, despite the fact that Danny Williams managed to convince Newfoundlanders that it would be more beneficial to elect opposition MPs. I wonder how thats going to work out for Danny Millions?

With oil prices dropping like a stone, and likely to stay there for some time, the big producers are quite likely to put the squeeze on Danny boy. They will give him a choice of delaying the big production projects, rewriting the terms of the contract, or coming up with more incentive cash. The first two will leave Danny with egg all over his face and a pissed off electorate (especially after his crowing about how great a deal he made). The third option will leave him going cap in hand to Ottawa for some help with the financing. Fat chance! Danny boy hasn’t played hardball until he messes with the oil companies. These guys have no scruples and they’ll bleed you til you’re dry.

Harper wants votes and will cave, just like he has on other things.
